Hi All, Our wonderful black lab (Baggy) died very unexpectedly last November from pancreatitis. It hit all our family very hard indeed. Christmas was rubbish - he wasn't there to help us unwrap the presents. We used to walk him every day in some woodland nearby and for a while after he died, I used to go walking on the same route, I just couldn't get out of the habit. But hey, it's 6 months later and we have started to talk about getting a puppy. I fully expect to take up to a year to find the right one for us. We have a couple of excellent breeders in mind and we are fully prepared to wait. It's wonderful to read the posts about all the antics labs get up to and it's helped us to look forward, not back. I'll post some pics of Baggy, and share our experiences with our new puppy. Paul
Re: Hi from South Wales Really sorry to hear about Baggy. It's a terrible wrench when they are taken away from us Good luck in your search for a new puppy. Pippa on here has written some very useful articles that may help you choose the best one for you Bob ps We visit Newport area fairly regularly as we have aged relatives there - currently in Merthyr Tydfil hospital ..... and they won't let our therapy dogs in to visit :
Re: Hi from South Wales Hi Paul welcome to the forum, sorry to hear of your sad loss, it leaves such a huge hole when they are taken from us. Lots of useful stuff here as well as reminders of how much of handful puppies are! Good luck in your search
Re: Hi from South Wales Hi Paul, welcome to the forum. If there's anything that helps you deal with the loss of a loved dog it is a puppy. I look forward to seeing your photos.
Re: Hi from South Wales Hi Paul and welcome Good luck with your puppy search, I too am embarking on the same journey. Pippa
