Hello all, we are new to this forum. We are the owners of a 2yr old black Labrador retriever Benny We had and loved our choco Lab Guinness after 13.5 years, and yep we pulled the trigger again lol. We got Benny at 7 mos from a wonderful breeder as she kept him and trained him, but I guess she knew he was a good fit for us, score , we did try rehoming but those stories were sadder than saying goodbye to Guinness. Anyways, he is a great dog, beautiful English head, great with the grandkids. Along with the breeders training we also did 6 week social and basic manners this spring. The only concern we have is, he is too enthusiastic when on leash walking on the street. Ed have gentle halty but for some reason he wants to really bark at "some" dogs, and hard to control. Now get this if it's a Lab, he is ready to play so he's prejudiced, Little dogs really elevate him. I'm being firm now holding him and eye contact,,, He's done doggy daycare and is complete gentleman, But I just want to go for a walk without having to change direction. Thx
