Hi guys! Im new here, just wanted to to ask for some help & advice. I have a black lab mixed, he is 6 months old and last I took to get his vaccines, the vet recommended to get a flea treatment since he noticed some balding on his behind. I did so, but he is still itching & scratching and I also noticed dandruff on his coat. I also noticed he is balding more on his back near his tail where it begins and its getting bigger. I fairly new to what to expect when having a lab, so in need of help to stop the balding, itching & scratching, & also having the hair grow back. I do bathe him once or twice a month at most, i also tried to use the itching shampoo and it didnt work. So any help/advice on what I should do, what I should be giving him/using on him, specific brands of food, shampoo, etc I should be using/looking for? Thank you so much in advance!
Hello and welcome. It's hard to say really. Maybe try no bathing him for awhile. Sometimes too many baths can dry out the skin. You can also try adding Omega 3 such as Salmon Oil to his daily meals. If that doesn't help maybe another Vet visit.
