Hi, My name is Paul and I live in Scotland. We just got our puppy Gibson last Saturday and he's already taking over. It's the first time we've had a dog for a long, long time as both me and my wife have been doing a lot of globetrotting. Our daughter is six now though and we thought the time was right. We're also trying to learn the right way of bringing him up, so we're keeping him off the lead - and surprise surprise, the recall works fine. We're crate training him, and he loves it, actually sleeping through from midnight to about six in the morning with no crying or howling (though trying it in the day is a different matter). I've been laughing as I read posts on the forum about other pups being scared of the rain (he turned on his heel and marched straight back inside the first time I tried to take him out in it), and the crocodile gene is definitely present in him. Still, after just a few days he's going to the toilet in the right place mostly, even going to the door when he wants out. We're not doing any serious training with him but he will sit to command, come when whistled (largely thanks to the excellent breeders we got him from) and happily hands things he fetches to us. The few mess ups have really been because I needed training, not the pup, but we're working it all out. Anyway, hi from me and Gibson.
