Hi there! My name is Ellie and I have a six month old lab retriever,Hunter. Just wanted to come in here and get some help with a few behavioural issues! He’s still very mouthy/bitey and we still have to put him in his pen to settle as he can’t seem to ‘chill out’ on his own bless him. He’s also jumpy and definitely tries to assert himself as dominant with me. Any help or advice we oils be greatly appreciated! He can do simple commands (sit,stay,paw). He’s not off lead yet,but I hire out a local pet playground to let him run around in and he has attended a puppy meet up there too which he coped well with.
Hi Ellie, welcome to the forum! Hunter sounds like a real cutie going through lots of normal puppy stages. Do have a look at this article on our main site about dominance theory though - it has been quite thoroughly debunked, although that information is taking a while to filter through the dog-owning community.
