    Hi everyone,

Thought I'd best post in here before diving into the rest of the forum.

I've just got a 8 1/2 week old black girl. She gorgeous but very much in the chasing my slippers stage! We had a springer spaniel who died this year. Sophie is by no means a replacement, how can you replace your best friend? But we've gone for a new start with a new friend. She doesn't really feel like my dog yet, but it's been 4 days and we are still learning each other. She follows me everywhere and even sits on my feet when I'm washing up.

In for her first jabs this Friday and booked puppy/obedience classes as soon as she's ready.

We are in the UK and there is my husband and I, and our 6 year old son.

    Thanks x

Sorry you've lost your older dog this year,I've not experienced that horrible time yet as Dexter is our first dog but I can totally sympathise,I'm glad owning a new Labrador friend has brought you to the Forum.

    Thanks everyone.
My name is Becky. It's the lab who's Sophie.

Naya, we are in West Yorkshire. Poor Sophie isn't used to this wind yet though. She'd better man up for winter!!!

    Hi,

My son is called Toby. I love meeting dogs called Toby too just for the embarrassed look on the owners face! Doesn't bother me at all.

Seems there are a lot of black dogs on this forum. Don't see many locally, usually they are yellow or chocolate.

Hi from me and Molly. I think it takes a while to adjust to a new pup - I know when I first had Molly I just kept longing for my dear old Rolo back. But somehow gradually the new one finds their own special place in your heart.
