My friend's 4-year old black lab was hit by a car tonight and didn't make it. I can't imagine how devastating. My heart hurts for her. She loved that dog to pieces. I've only had Rue 4 months and can't imagine life without her now. She is such a big part of our little family. Sniff sniff.
Re: Holding Rue a little closer tonight. Oh my goodness that is devastating for your friend. So sad. My heart aches for her too.
Re: Holding Rue a little closer tonight. I'm so terribly sorry for your friend. That is just absolutely hellish.
Re: Holding Rue a little closer tonight. What an awful thing to happen, heart breaking. Sending hugs.
Re: Holding Rue a little closer tonight. How terribly sad I think we'll all hug our dogs a little closer after this sad news.
Re: Holding Rue a little closer tonight. That was a heart stopping thing to read, I am so sorry for your friend. Unfortunately it is so easily done, despite the care we take of our dogs, the unexpected can always happen. My dog's sister was killed by suddenly chasing a fox across a very quiet country road.
Re: Holding Rue a little closer tonight. So hard, and it can happen so quickly. Hugs to your friend. :'(
Re: Holding Rue a little closer tonight. I'm so sorry for your friend... :'( And unfortunately, I can totally relate...we lost our Izzy just this way and she was 4 and a half.... :'( :'( It's heart shattering when despite everything, tragedy strikes. I just have to believe that God had a bigger plan than what we had in mind. Blessings to your friend, and hugs to all the furry friends in all out lives too.
Re: Holding Rue a little closer tonight. Thankfully her other dog, a saint bernard, survived. He was hit by the car as well but just had a couple minor injuries. Imagine how shattering and tragic it would have been to lose two? So glad he's okay. She lives out in the country and she has never had a problem with them wandering before last night. It's just all too much.
