She has mostly a field background, however she does have show genes as well. Most field labs in the UK seem on the small side. So she is unusually tall for a working type lab, probably because her father was mahoosive!
I think dogs from trialling lines, and recent FTChs, tend to be massive. I think there are a lot of working line dogs that are small but it's definitely not the trend in trialling Labradors - at least as far as I can see.
As in Labradors that work? I know a few that are on the small side. Most are average size and above that I've met though.
Yes many of the strong trialling lines are very tall and long legged. And VERY fast. Particularly the black dogs. I think the yellows often have a slightly more traditional look about them and aren't as tall. Usually powerful and the fact they're usually kept very, very lean makes them look sleeker shape wise than perhaps otherwise they might. And then you do get a group of little pocket rockets of both black and yellow. Not often top trialling dogs though. Very good WT dogs and picking up dogs And then you get the Riley of this world. Just your average labradog
