Re: Home Check Advice.. Just caught up on all this! Congratulstions!!! What's his name? What's his history??
Re: Home Check Advice.. So it's confirmed, our first foster labrador. We are collecting him tomorrow morning at 6am, fostering in the first instance with a view to adoption if all goes well. We have a week booked of work, to help him get into our routines. I am excited but very apprehensive! His name is Cas. Another photo.. Cas 1 by kate_beanwood, on Flickr
Re: Home Check Advice.. He has a really friendly face! Has a cone of shame as he has just been neutered
Re: Home Check Advice.. He does look a great character. I can never understand why the 'cone of shame' is used such a lot. I have had five bitches spayed, three boys castrated, one puppy with fractured elbow screwed and pinned, one hip replacement with a German Pointer and not once has one ever been prescribed or needed a cone? Not saying anything personal to you Beanwood as I know it isn't your decision and you haven't got him yet. I am so looking forward to hearing all about him, it may be a bit difficult at times as I guess he will have lots of adjusting to do at his age. I hope all goes well as he is a lucky lad to be fostered and hopefully adopted.
Re: Home Check Advice.. Welcome Cas! Do you think he'll be joining us on Severnside Walkies in a fortnight? Pongo
Re: Home Check Advice.. Best of luck to Kath, Mr Bean and Benson on the new addition to the pack today! Hope it all goes well. Make sure you tell us all about it when you get chance.
Re: Home Check Advice.. Well Cas has arrived..and we are all very, very tired, a 4 am start coupled with a poor nights sleep! 8) Cas is beautiful, an Irish Kennel Registered black lab, nearly 6 years old, very, very hyper atm, so just to get some focus is going to take a few days. Off lead he is surprisingly good, but on lead, not so. He gets on well with the cats, ignoring them and has had a huge hoolie already with Benson! We do have a few issues which hopefully are due to him being stressed and a bit stir crazy. We are just fostering him for now and will see how it goes. Will pop up some photos a bit later on
Re: Home Check Advice.. He might take a few weeks to settle, but he should start to chill out a bit and respond. It's great that the dogs are getting on well and that the new boy is good with cats Sounds like Cas has some skills but some areas for improvement too. I'm sure that being with you will have a positive effect on him
