Re: How long, O Lord.....?? Lisa, have you tried a long training line to take Simba into the garden on then there's no dragging and eventually you could just drop it and let it drag and eventually shorten it when he gets the idea that it's ok to go into the garden? Helen x
Re: How long, O Lord.....?? Well, the problem being that when he doesn't want to go out he will stop about 10 feet from the door and just Not Move. So, no matter the length of the lead, I would have to pull him to get him out! :
Re: How long, O Lord.....?? Yes, the tray on the side did work. I cannot see it is going to give them a phobia about trays or cutlery! Unless it is a very nervous dog and I don't think a nervous dog would have the courage to counter surf
Re: How long, O Lord.....?? Have you thought about the fact you may be rewarding the stealing behaviour? Every time he steals, you walk up to him and give him a treat? Have you tried a baked bean tin with stones in it and a plastic dog food lid on top? Get some of those on the counter in reach. If it doesn't scare him then at least it will alert you to the fact he is doing it. I would not give him treats though. Try swapping one of his own toys for your object and telling him he is good when he chews that. Make a fuss during the day when you see him quietly chewing his own things. Have you ever tried giving him a stag bar? A dear antler that is. Dogs LOVE them! My dog sits for ages chewing it and flinging it everywhere lol.
Re: How long, O Lord.....?? Do you just have issues with getting him out the house into the garden or for walks too? If its just the garden do you go out with him to potty or just shut the door on him?
