Re: how much does your puppy weigh?
I just went to see what he was up to and found him cuddling up to the entertainment unit. Odd.
Choked on my wine at that Rachael,he's a blummin love that dog of yours!Dexter is coming in as the weaniest of the weaners for sure.....poor lad, some of the puppies are heavier than him!i tell you what though,he's 23 kgs of muscle and he can outrun anybody in the park!
Re: how much does your puppy weigh? We have a very chunky little boy too. Ollie was almost 11kg at 12 weeks and seems to have got a LOT heavier in the last few weeks (he's now 16 weeks) so I cant wait to see how much he weighs when he goes back to the vets in a few weeks. He seems to hold it well though and does look the little fatty he is..until you try to pick him up! ;D I so miss being able to pick him up for cuddles lol
Re: how much does your puppy weigh?
They are all very different! At 4 months Charlie weighed 17kg - but then he slowed down gaining (which is good, you want them to grow slowly so their joints develop properly). At about 6.5 months he was 25kgs, and stayed at that until 7 months, even though he bulked up in muscle. I reckon he is probably 27 - 29 kgs now at nearly 9 months (he gets weighed next Wednesday). I really don't want him too end up too heavy, it's not good, I think. He is 100% show (so not massively tall) and his uncle weighs close to 38kgs fully grown (and is not fat). I hope Charlie will be lighter, his mother was, so fingers crossed.
Just back from the vet - 27.8kgs at 9 months (that 0.2 of a kg matters )). So Jasper definitely has the edge here - more than an edge! I'm pretty pleased, really, growth has slowed massively to less than 1kg a month.
Re: how much does your puppy weigh? i enjoy every second, he cuddles up with me every night, loads of belly tickles all big fit guys in the north west being big on rugby league ;D
Re: how much does your puppy weigh? tats my pup cooper at 7 months he weighs 23kgs i.e 50 pounds can anyone tell me if his weight is correct for me he luks kinda thin. His back nd butt region including his head is not widening wat to do pls help....
Re: how much does your puppy weigh? Teena, stop worrying, he looks perfect! Some labs are big and chunky, others are slender and don't weigh so much. Take a look at the photos of all our different labs, you will see there are really big differences! Poppy weighs 25 kilos, some big male labs weigh 38!! He'll keep on growing and putting on weight until he's around 2 years old. And frankly, it's better if a dog is a bit thin rather than too fat.
Re: how much does your puppy weigh? Hi Teena - here is a picture of Lilly. She is a girl, and she is slim and long legged. Weighs 25kg. She is 3 and a half now, but been this weight since around a year old. She has a slim back end and is pretty much in proportion. As Karen says, they are all different. Cooper looks great (although it would be nice to see his head too ;D )
Re: how much does your puppy weigh? I dont really see Sam as being that big ;D Its only when he stands beside a smaller Lab that we realise what a huge boy he is but he is slim so our Vet is happy with his 38 kilo weigh in , lots of boy to hug ;D
Re: how much does your puppy weigh? My last boy was close to 38kg too. When we got Obi I thought he was tiny! He has muscled up a but now so he's a better cuddling prospect than he was, but I we still refer to him as The Tiny Little Doggie sometimes... More to cuddle can only be a good thing
Re: how much does your puppy weigh? Widgeon went for his 6mths vets check last week:- 25.5kg He still looks like he has some growing to do to fill his paws!! I wouldn't have said he was particularly chunky but he seems bigger than most it seems reading this thread?
Re: how much does your puppy weigh? Ah I'm relieved to hear tat Cooper is luking gud nd not too thin thank u so much karen Katie nd Jacqui I really appreciate it nd so glad to see Lilly too. I jus want to knw abt his height will he grow more nd put on weight or it's oly this much
Re: how much does your puppy weigh? Hi guys, took Charlie to the vet for second jabs today and she weighed him. He was 7.6kg and she said he was on the slimmer side. Should I be concerned do you think that he is underweight? He does eat well but I stick to the advised amount on the packets (400g) per day and weigh his food out in advance. He doesn't always eat it all.
Re: how much does your puppy weigh?
Hi guys, took Charlie to the vet for second jabs today and she weighed him. He does eat well but I stick to the advised amount on the packets (400g) per day and weigh his food out in advance. He doesn't always eat it all.
Charlie says that's NOT FAIR. He has never been allowed the full amount on the packet and the best a vet has said is that he "is on the podgy side of ok". I wouldn't worry, it's far better to have them slim and grow slowly. Unless the vet was concerned. But "slimmer side" sounds good.
Re: how much does your puppy weigh? Lol Julie it would be great if the GP would say it to me too...think he mostly thinks, 'she's on the podgy side'! All the men in my life seem to have a good metabolism! I will keep an eye on it but you are right 'moment on the lips, lifetime on the hips' if we start off slim hopefully it will be less of a problem long term. Xx
Re: how much does your puppy weigh? Hope u can see his head now Jacqui nd I hope Pippa Angela Katie nd karen lyk it too
