Re: How much does your puppy weigh? Darcey is now 7.5 months old and as of today weighs 19.15 kg that is the most weight she has put on yet
Re: How much does your puppy weigh? Eeek, Maisie has all of a sudden gotten quite skinny (haven't weighed her since she bashed her head into my chin on accident when I tried last time) and I can feel her spine much much more than I used to. So I have upped the rations!! Bit frightening but I am sure she will plump up. She was getting 2 1/2 cups and now I've bumped her up to 3 cups. Bag recommends 2 1/2 for 22 pound dogs, and 3 1/3 for 46 pound dogsā¦ well she's somewhere in the middle (35ish) so I was doing 2 1/2 to be safe since she gets treats, etc, BUT apparently that's not good! Poor skinny minnie.
Re: How much does your puppy weigh? I've always taken the recommendations from the bag for the lower weight and upper weight to get the difference in quantity and then divided the difference by the difference in the dog's weight, if that makes sense. I then know how much extra food Juno should have for extra pound of weight. I then make an allowance for treats. Also I've always used grams for the weight of food as it's easier to calculate the extra amount more easily. If you can I would het her current weight so you can check how much she should be getting. Has Maisie grown recently? That might explain her apparent loss of weight.
Re: How much does your puppy weigh? Shadow now weighs more than Willow!! At eight months, three weeks, Willow is 18.5kg and Shadow is 18.75kg!

I'm a bit loosey-goosey about how much she eats although I know I'll have to manage it a bit more closely when she's older. She's never been fat and the vets have always said she is a perfect weight and nice and lean so it's worked so far. I just weighed her and she is somewhere in the vicinity of 35-37 lbs (got a different weight reading each time but the first I think she had her foot on the towel hanger! haha) so she's actually gained weight. Perhaps she just GREW and her weight went into bones development, etc, rather than her fat covering. I think 3 cups works out to about right.
Re: How much does your puppy weigh? Lola weighed 5.3kg today at 10 weeks and a day, so a textbook 0.5kg increase in just over a week
Shadow was awfully skinny at times when he was younger. It seemed that everything I fed him went into him growing up rather than out. Now he's getting closer to his maximum height, he's started filling out a little bit more. This was him at four months ... all skin and bones!
Re: How much does your puppy weigh? I had Tess weighed today at 16 weeks and she's 14.7kgs. Growing so big so fast!
Re: How much does your puppy weigh? Tara was weighed at 5 months, for her latest wormer dose, and she is 17.9kg. Vet seemed happy at this, as she is a "growing puppy", and will only be interested in her actual weight, when fully grown. She does seem a bit tubby to me, and I cannot feel her ribs. Getting heavy to lift in and out of the car, too! Perhaps she will use up some of her fat, when she increases her off lead running, and cuts down on her off lead dog wrestling!
Re: How much does your puppy weigh? Took Jack & Barney to the vets to get them weighed and get their Advocate, after a mental few minutes they were v good boys, and were v taken by a young female dog who constantly barked lol. They both weighed 32kg at 11.5 months x
Re: How much does your puppy weigh? Had Ziva weekly weigh in this aft she was 6.2 k last Monday at 10 week and today 7.1 kilo.... so happy with that
Re: How much does your puppy weigh? Took Abby in today and she only weighed 13lbs (about 6kg) at 11 weeks!! I saw on this thread a couple females around her size at that age, just looking for more reassurance that she's not going to be a midget Lab!
The vets I saw when Charlie was a puppy gave me very different opinions about his weight. I'd say if you can't feel your puppy's ribs at 5 months, she is definitely too tubby, and you should reduce her food. At 5 months, you should definitely be applying the standard body condition charts.
I think that is in line with Maisie, she is now almost 40 lbs at almost 7 months so not a midget. I anticipate she'll be about 50-60 lbs full grown. What was the size of the parents? That might give you a clue about her eventual weight.

Re: How much does your puppy weigh? Ellie was 16 weeks old yesterday so we popped round to weight check - 13.5 kg. She's gaining about 1 kg per week
Ziva weighed in this morning at 9.9 kilo and she is 14 weeks .....3.1/2 months happy with that seems to be continuing with her 1 kilo a week so that's good slow but steady gain .
Juno has tended to gain around half a kilo a week; well that was until we had restricted exercise and her operation. Weighed her on Tuesday and she went 24.5kg at 11 months and had gained a kilo in 3.5 weeks so am very happy with her weight as she is.
Brody weighs 12.8kg at 12 weeks old. He was the biggest in his litter so expecting him to be a big boy
