Maxx was weighed 2 weeks ago at the vets and is 29kg at 6 months. The vet said he is not overweight as he is tall and solid but I wouldn't want him to put much more...he is not svelte shall we say!

My 7 month old went for his 6 month health check last week and weighed 30.6kg. Vet happy with him and just said ‘he is going to be a big lad’. He weighed 6.6 at 8 weeks

My lad is the same - vet said he is not overweight as he still has a waist and she can feel his ribs easily. Does worry me about how much more he is going to grow

For anyone more in the ‘know’ than me.

    Maslow was:
    6.9kg at 8 weeks
    7.1kg at 10 weeks

Is this enough of a weight gain or should I be upping his food a bit? He’s constantly starving but very active (for a puppy) and his poos are lovely and firm.

He’s quite slim from the top but has quite a chunky belly if this helps

Judging by that picture and his age, I'd say a little more wouldn't hurt. I aimed for around half to one kilo gain a week. From that picture, it looks like you can see his ribs if he's side on? I'm happy to see my dogs' ribs when they're turning, eating, sniffing hard etc, and maybe the last one as a matter of course (especially in my show-bred Lab), but I wouldn't want to see them all the time in a young puppy. I did see it a lot, because my Shadow was a very skinny pup that grew upwards instead of outwards!
Young puppy tummies tend to be quite round as all their internal organs are a bit squished at this age.
If this picture is indicative of what he's normally like, and not just him looking particularly skinny then I'd say increase his food a little and see how he gets on. You should be able to feel his ribs easily without applying any pressure, but not have them sticking out.

There is a chart on this thread that might help: https://thelabradorforum.com/threads/ideal-dog-weight-chart.22542/

Just keep in mind the side view might look different with a very young puppy because of the internal organs.

Chewie was 5.75kg when we got him at nearly 9 weeks and is now about 7.6kg at 13 weeks.

He looks pretty good to me. He is a tall boy. He can already get his paws on the dining table. Eek.

Wilson is 3 months old and weighs 10kg, Mum was slim and Dad chunky, both working dogs. There's so much conflicting advice on how much you should feed your puppy.
