Hi all, I lie in the Northeast and though snow hasn't started to fall it will soon. What are some good indoor games for a high energetic dog. Thanks in advance.

I would recommend following one of the Fenzi Academy courses which takes your fancy: fenziacademy.com

That will give you loads to work on, training-wise, indoors (if you pick a suitable indoor course)! And also have the benefit of training your dog in the mean time... :)

We like playing "find it" (we hide and have Tank look for piles of kibble around the house) and LOTS of tug.

Oh, also, while we haven't tried it yet, I'm thinking about getting or making a small flirt pole, but you need a fair amount of room for that.

Hi @Marc dogs love target sticks, and skill can be transferred to some of the activities suggested below.

Teach him to retrieve household objects. Clean up his toys. To collect the dirty clothing to put in the washing machine. If side-loading machine teach him to place the spun-dry clothes in a washing basket. Teach him to find your keys. Go to the fridge and get you a drink.

Teach him to find "contraband" in my case it was Earl Grey tea.

Mental exercises help to tire the dog. And enable you to really bond with your dog. You will be amazed about how many things they will do. It will improve your shaping skills

We toss tennis balls a lot in the house. Tilly and I had a game where she would stand at the top of the stairs and catch a ball and then drop it down the stairs so I could toss it back to her. This could go on for a long time. Cooper has never gotten it, she runs down the stairs and gives me the ball.

At our cabin, we toss balls up to the second floor and let Cooper run up stairs and find them. Tilly used to do this also, but at almost 13 she does stairs slowly now. We taught Tilly to know the names of a lot of her toys, so we could retrieve a particular toy.
