Re: Introducing Miss Nellie Is it this Wednesday? Are you prepared? Looking forward to hearing all about it.
Re: Introducing Miss Nellie Hi Jane, yes it's this Wednesday!!! I think I'm prepared but there is probably something I've forgotten! Have been cleaning the house, changing the beds etc today incase I am incapable in the next 2 weeks ( good excuse I reckon)
Re: Introducing Miss Nellie Nicola, it's ridiculous at my house. I moved everything into my absent daughter's room to have the new floor laid downstairs. Now is the ideal time to stick stuff straight into the loft and not bring it back downstairs. To do that I had to get loft flooring down. To put that flooring down, stuff had to moved around in the loft and some of it has to go to the tip. Now my nicely sorted out garden for the pup is littered with rubbish! Glad I still have a little time. Also in the middle of seeking new dog day care before she comes home. Wednesday will be great, oh how lovely enjoy!
Re: Introducing Miss Nellie Not long to go now! I was just like you last week I cleaned the house, did a massive food shop in case I ran out of something and couldn't leave the house!! Haha! It didn't help with the fact my other half is away with work Monday to Friday this week... So I feel like a single parent! I must say its a very surreal moment when you walk out the breeders house with your new little furry friend! Let us know how you get on.... Xx
Re: Introducing Miss Nellie I was scared stiff picking up Lilly - it was just me and the kids. I really worried how I would get her from the breeders house to the car without a collar and lead, whether she would jump out my arms and escape or get run over, and whether she would jump around the car, wee and poop all over it.......gosh! I really worried about every aspect of it. It was all absolutely fine None of the above Cuddled into me then sat happily on Sophie's towelled knee all the way home in the car. No problems..... So exciting! ;D ;D
Re: Introducing Miss Nellie
Annie, I was wondering how it felt, actually leaving with your pup!
It's fun, scary, amusing, tiring, exciting, rewarding... You get the picture! It's all about finding what works best for you the pup! But I have to say it is hard trying to do the normal daily things... I've found the crate or doggy den as I prefer to call it useful not only at night but in the day also keeping he in there while I shower or when I'm cooking dinner I can't keep my eyes on her! She settles in there really well! I had to take her to the vets today by myself for her jab (as my partner is away) and I was so nervous! But in the end it was ok, she sat in a cardboard box at the front and chewed on the cardboard the whole way there and back!! Your life will never be the same but you will have so much fun!

OH and I actually had a 20 minute conversation about which one of us would be the safest pair of hands to carry Charlie down the 5 steps outside the breeder's house! Such precious, much loved fur bundles, these pups.
