Re: Introducing Miss Nellie Well were home! Nellie was fine in the car on the way home and went for a wee in the garden as soon as we got home. She seems confident and carefree playing with a few toys and following us around the garden. She is now asleep in her crate, she has woken up briefly but went straight back to sleep! She will need all the rest she an get as the kids will be home in a few hours! A few pics below! image by nicolamorris0208, on Flickr

Re: Introducing Miss Nellie Oh my goodness, gorgeous and cute! Pleased the journey home went well. You're kids are going to be super excited!!
Re: Introducing Miss Nellie Beautiful looking puppy, it'll be tough to resist those gorgeous eyes. Good luck with the first few days!
Re: Introducing Miss Nellie Brilliant! She is lovely! I am glad she seems to be settling already, must be the influence of a calm owner
Re: Introducing Miss Nellie Gorgeous, happy Gotcha Day Nellie! Love the puppy tummy. Good luck for your first night. x
Re: Introducing Miss Nellie Well Nellie is asleep AGAIN! All she has done today is play, sleep wee, eat & poo! We've had no whining at all and I have been putting her in her crate every time she has fallen asleep and on one occasion she went in there on her own accord and laid down! I have also closed the crate door and it didn't seem to bother her much! No little accidents either as we have spent most of the day in the garden, it might have been a bit different if it had been chucking it down all day. I'm just about to wake her for last feed and for a play before we go to bed so I update early tomorrow
Re: Introducing Miss Nellie Well we survived the night! She was in fact really good! I put her in her crate about 11:15 and said goodnight time for bed and turned the lights off and she started to howl and whine and paw at the crate. I laid in the armchair about 2 metres away and never spoke and she calmed down in about 5-10 mins and went to sleep. I set my alarm for 3am but woke about 2:40 ( I had moved onto the sofa at that point) and went over to her crate and she was just sitting there all waggy tailed and had not soiled the crate, so I took her in the garden and she did a wee a gently praised her and brought her back in and put her back in her crate but she was awake and wanted to play but I just shut the door without speaking to her and laid back in the chair and the she howled for about 15 minutes before she gave up and went to sleep and I moved back to the sofa with the alarm set for 6am. I awoke about 5:50 and crept over to her crate and she was still fast asleep but I accidentally woke her up trying to creep back to the sofa!! : We went back into the garden for another wee and again no accidents in her crate! Yay!! She has had a touch of diahorrea this morning though so will keep an eye on that but so far so good although feeling a tad tired! ;D
Re: Introducing Miss Nellie Aw Nicola that sounds really good! If you can, just like a human baby, try and have a couple of cat naps whilst she is asleep during the day. That is something I don't say very often but reserve for "new mums". well done both of you!
Re: Introducing Miss Nellie Glad your first night wasn't too bad as suggested, if you can have naps, take them......it's like when you have a baby!
Re: Introducing Miss Nellie Great Nicola! I also like the idea of being in the same room so she can smell I am near ( :). It sounds like it worked really well. When my children were toddlers I used to do the no talking and no eye contact in the middle of the night (used to talk to them in the day though ;D). It sounds lovely, well done. Keep us up to date, if you can.
