Re: Is this a good idea??? I agree completely with Julie. A week, a month, a few more months....it wouldn't have made any positive difference to Ezra. The pain he was in may well have increased in that time and it could've become really bad. Too soon is far, far better than one second too late. Don't go telling yourself you could've waited. When a dog has a terminal illness and is in pain waiting is not kind and is simply something we do to spare our own feelings. I know it all feels just so bad. It's normal, you loved him. It's ok to feel so, so, sad and heartbroken. But don't entertain any guilt. You really don't deserve it. Be kind to yourself because you really do deserve that.
Re: Is this a good idea??? Don't have any regrets at all. You made him feel happy and wanted but, more than that, you chose exactly the right time to let him go before he suffered. It's so hard, but you did the best thing ever.
Re: Is this a good idea???
Come on, now. Better a week, or a month, too soon than a day too late. He went happy, and peacefully. It doesn't even matter whether it was this week or next.
Yes. It's so so very sad and awful to lose a dear pet - especially one you have cried so many tears over already. But he wouldn't have known anything about an extra week - it would not have been any different for him - and it may have been a week of unnecessary pain. You saved him that. Now it's time to be kind to yourself xx
Re: Is this a good idea??? Fab photo to remember the good times you dud the right thing by not letting him suffer any more xx
