Hi there Austin and welcome to the forum. In a word, YES! This behaviour is definitely common, and perfectly normal for your little girl. Ripping, chewing, biting are all ways to explore her world with her mouth, just like a human baby does. Sitting down in peace and quiet to watch TV is probably a little way off. One of the best threads to read is this one..... https://thelabradorforum.com/threads/puppy-problems-will-things-ever-improve.1680/ Will things EVER improve? Yes, they will. Be patient and consistent and train regularly and your little bitey crocopup will become a steady companion. There are loads of resources on the main website to help with your puppy training http://www.thelabradorsite.com/labrador-puppies/ And if you haven't already, perhaps invest in Pippa's Happy Puppy Handbook https://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Happy-...5/ref=pd_rhf_gw_p_img_1_QCZK?tag=thelabsit-21 Take a look at the resources I have linked to, and let us know how you get along! jac
Totally normal Don't worry! A lot of this is puppy stuff that will diminish over time, all by itself. With the peeing... when she goes outside is she being interrupted by anything? Sometimes if they are interrupted they still have pee left but don't realise till they're back in the house and are less distracted.
Hi and welcome...it's not bad behaviour, it's normal puppy behaviour. Sally does not know what's expected of her yet and you have to teach her. Do read the Happy Puppy Handbook..then you both can learn together how to have a happy puppy...and happy owner. Best wishes, Emma and Meg.
My yellow lab is just 13 weeks. She bites on wood and twigs outside. I can't say I am comfortable from the safety side about this but I know it's normal behaviour. I bought a block of wood from our pet shop which she does gnaw and chew. As I type this, she is gnawing on an old wooden wine rack which we agreed was preferable to table and chair legs. I use a bitter apple spray on wood we don't want chewed. It is good but does need reapplying. When I put her lead on, I let her take the end in her mouth so at least I can clip it on - saves a lot of hassle and she eventually lets go. We get some whining and howling when we sit down in the evening but we are ignoring it and it stops fairly quickly - this is improving. The potty pad gets shredded occasionally but all part of the ripping/chewing need. The need to bite when we pet her has also diminished. Reckon another week and you will notice a big difference as we have.
Hi and welcome from me and my boy Bailey. All this is normal puppy behaviour and not being naughty or bad. As already linked have a look at the articles, a remember there is no one solution that will fit every pup - they are all different. My boy was a total furry crocodile (or crocopup) when he was tiny - with training this now only happens when he is over tired and hyped up but there is no marks or blood drawn anymore - loosing those little razors laughingly called puppy teeth helped a lot, but so did being consistent and patient - repeating every time the steps necessary to teach him - and that goes for every part of training him - repeat, repeat and repeat again. They are bright little things, eager to learn and they do pick things up very quickly. Good luck and have you got any photo's of Sally?
