I have a 1 year old labrador called Marley and I recently noticed that almost every other lab I saw had shorter, less fluffy hair on their tails. I think I should mention that I never trimmed his fur, I only brush it regularly, could this be the reason? https://ibb.co/gKMm1v
Marley is super gorgeous. I have seen some Labradors with extremely fluffy tails, they are all different xx
Yup, it looks normal. My yellow has a fluffy tail, too. For showing purposes, it's considered undesirable, but it's not anything to worry about. Nothing to do with your grooming; you shouldn't need to trim his hair at all.
He looks fine. In the show ring, feathering of the tail is undesirable. Some wave in the coat is allowed but not extreme. If he is not a show dog, there is no problem and he looks lovely
