Rorys colitis is back and he's feeling dreadful. I just want to scoop him p and cuddle him better.I won't tell you what his crate looked like yesterday. We started his usual treatment yesterday and he's just so flat so not Rory. Its horrible when he's in pain.

The strange thing is its thrown Moo into a real spin she's very upset and is hiding in her bed and looking really upset. Its not long since Doug died and she was like this then, she saw him have the stroke and was visibly upset by the whole frightening situation. I spending time reasuring both dogs as both are feeling very delicate but its very hard not to worry about both. Rory will improve and will be back to his usual self soon hopefully but I very worried about little Moo as shes recently gone a bit deaf and lost her best friend. I think she is feeling a bit lost. I'm trying to think of ways to improve her mood but nothing seems to be helping much.

Awww, poor little Rory, that's an awful thing to have to put up with. Lets hope the meds kick in soon.

I don't know your story sdegg, so don't know about what's happened to upset Moo but I can certainly sympathise with you having a dog who is in effect grieving for a lost companion and seeing another ill.
Perhaps her mood will pick up once Rory is back to his old self.

Very best wishes for you all.

I'm hoping it will but I suspecting her vison maybe going too. She's always been a very strange dog but she seems to be getting a little stranger. Theres always the possiblity of dementia but she just seems very unsure of herself and shes not reacting to things in her normal way. She was with my old dog when he had a stroke i think it really frightened her, she knew something bad was happening but not what and she was traumatised by it.

Rory has started to improve thankful and we've had no bottom explosions or blood yesterday or this morning. he's very tired but I think he's definately in less pain.

    Good news about Rory.

I guess Moo is a very old dog. Certainly if her sight is going and various other things beginning to cause her problems, having another dog collapse in front of her would be scary. Was the old dog who had the stroke Moo's confidence giver?
So difficult seeing them get old and there's not really a lot we can do.

My old cocker Alfie is losing his sight and is very deaf, but fortunately he's not displaying any signs of being distressed by these things. He was 13 in April.

Continued good wishes for you all.

It's good to hear that Rory's colitis is improving. Perhaps Moo will feel a bit better when he's back to normal. It can't be easy for her to understand when her sight is not so good and she's a bit frail herself. Hope they're both more comfortable soon.

Rorys better today and went to his training last night and flung himself at the trainer and she liked it. The other dog was a no show so he had 40 mins of training and he really enjoyed himself. It was all about Rory which is what he really likes. he's not in pain now and doing solid poos with a little blood so he's much much better. He's still tired but starting to feel himself. Fingers crossed that he's back on track.

I do think Moos vision is going too she missed food in her bowl and I had to show it to her and I done various things whch she would have noticed before which she missed totally. So I'm going to have to watch her closely and adjust my attitude to her and help her as much as possible. She finally geting old its happened very suddenly since Doug died he was her condfidence giver along with me, so i'm going to have to double my efforts with her to keep her as happy as possible. She just so adorable I just hope I can help get what she needs

    Great news about Rory.

I'm sure you'll do the right things for Moo to make life easier for her as she gets older and loses her sight. You are very aware of what's happening to her and that's a great part of the battle.

    Best wishes.
