Yep wee Flash is the one. Ive even started calling him "Blue" after the colour of the collar hes wearing lol! He's the one, but were still undecided on his name. Thinking of "Laz", as of Lazarus and back from the dead lol
Nigel (stud dog owner) told me to start them on Ambrosia creamed rice, then gradually add puppy kibble (moistened) and then gradually reduce ambrosia rice until its just kibble and puppy milk. Royal Canin puppy milk arrived today!
So gave the pups a couple of small bowls of water today to let them explore (with supervision). Theire wee noses were twitching and pups were getting pushed in by others, others were tramping through it whilst the odd little pink tongue tried it. Wonderful watching the little ones experience something new. Going to do the same tomorrow and then try some creamed rice on Monday. Now that WILL be a mess lol
They are so cute I agree that watching them is amazing - actually your pics make me wanting another litter sooner than we planned...
Woke up at 5:15am this morning with the pups yapping and howling. Came downstairs and decided to see what they would think of some Creamed Rice. Lets just say those pups knew how to feed, i only put a few scoops in as it was their first time and they were in it, round it, covered in it, but they ate every pic lol. And Jet enjoyed cleaning them all after lol. Pity i cant post videos on here!
So tell me, when can i begin to introduce the pups to the outside world? I have purchase a puppy pen and was going to put it out on our patio. No other dogs have access apart from Jet and i was wanting to bring them out if the weather was good. They are 3 weeks old now.
All pups wormed now at the beginning of the week (3 weeks old), it was good to see there wasnt one worm present. All pups are growing well and even though little flash (or Blue we are thinking of calling him) is the smallest, hes still gradually gaining weight and none of the pups are losing weight. I had to bring Jet to the vets on Tuesday evening. a yellowy discharge reappeared when she went for a wee (she had this when she first got pregnant) and as well as this two of her front nipples were very red and hard. The vet said they seemed to think it was the beginning of mastitis but her glands were still very supple and relaxed which was good. So a course of antibiotics and i can see her getting more herself again. She still attends to feeding the pups and then leaves them, shes been a great mum to her brood and we are so proud of her. The weaning process is going well, although little Blue seems to be bullied around the bowl a bit lol, tried feeding her seperately and he spent the whole time yapping missing his brothers and sisters, but when i put him back in with them he ate a little. Maybe have to soften his food a little more than the others. This puppy rearing is hard work now after the initial relaxed 3 weeks, but it is so enjoyable and rewarding watching them grow, play and find their little personalities. Ill post more pics soon!
