What? You want me to talk about my NEW PUPPY! :D Oh, that's SUCH a chore...

Ok, well, it's not a clumber spaniel (maybe next time :D) - it's a Labrador. :) Of course. And what could be nicer? :D:D:D

    It's a yellow girl. :)

A show line dog but, with some working line ancestors. Of course all Labradors have the same ancestors, but this dog has recent working line ancestors. She is from a careful breeding programme of crossing show line dogs with select working line dogs (not any old random breeding between the two but a programme lasting decades) but she is overwhelmingly show line. She has some (in my view) drop dead gorgeous mixed show and working line FTWs in her pedigree, and both her parents work picking up, and are successful in the show ring.

She was very hard to find and buy! And I have no idea how I'm going to manage a entire dog and a bitch in season - separate boys' holidays and girls' holidays are planned. So let's hope she is reliable.....:D:D:D

I don't have photos! The breeder was too busy grilling me on my knowledge of her dogs and optimum conformation!

Plus, she wanted to see Charlie - I think she made up her mind I could have a pup when she approved of Charlie being slim! But then he nearly wreaked it for me by whining in the car and legging it in the woods (she was understanding though, he came back reasonably quickly and had been in the car for 6 hours....).

But the whole thing was worse than a job interview and I didn't get the chance to whip my phone out and take pictures of the pups!

Here is one of her FTW (mainly) show line grandfathers though...:) but I'll be lucky if she is a patch on this. Hopefully will make a good pet, and a good pet gundog though.

I've seen some photos of her relatives and I have to say there are some VERY good looking dogs in there! And you know I'm a working dog girl at heart ;)

12th June! So exciting! She is mine now, so I'll love her no matter - no matter if she is hopeless to show, and hopeless to work - I'll love her regardless. But, obviously, hoping she'll be reasonably good looking and want to fetch stuff! :D

Does her kennel name start with an E? Is she a dark yellow? Lovely, lovely, lovely! However, having a yellow Lab you will notice more hairs, no dark clothes now!

OMG!!!! Could this be any more exciting?! :happyfeet::happyfeet::happyfeet:

You're going to have such a lovely choc caramel blend of hair in your house

Can't wait to hear what Charlie thinks of his new little sis.

Are you going to visit again before you bring her home? (working out possible photo opportunities...) :inlove:

Charlie adores puppies - he is going to love it. Er...I don't think he'll take too kindly to sharing his beds or tummy rubs, but we just think more beds and tummy rubs will have to be provided and no doubt we'll manage that. :)

But, seriously, Charlie loves puppies and loves girls - he is just going to be fine, I think. :)

The fact of the matter is we have no kids (by choice) and an extended family that loves dogs and there is often not enough Charlie to go round (difficult though that may seem to understand given Charlie's personality :D). We argue about who is going to have him on the bed and he often gets a 5th walk just because someone wants to walk him....We've puppy love going spare here....:D:D:D

I'm not going to visit again - this weekend is puppy prep weekend (got to buy non slip lino and stuff...you know...), next weekend we are going away, and the weekend after that is NEW PUPPY WEEKEND! :D:D:D
