my lab is 8 months old. We walk her about 50 min a day. We try to follow the 5 min per month of age so as not to damage her hips but we add on an extra 15 min as per the vets ok. We do 2-3, 5 min training sessions of sit, shake a paw, leave it etc. She has bones to chew and puzzle toy in her crate. 2x a day she is with me in the kitchen on a leash while I cook for about 20 min. The problem is she gets very little attention because she is such a bad jumper and she hurts every one. I’ve tried turning my back to her and ignoring, but she will just jump on my back she also does this to the kids who also turn their backs to her. I’ve also tried, since she knows sit, holding food in my hand and not making eye contact until she sits, then I give her the food. This only works when outside at the back door. However she still continues to jump at us when we don’t have food for her. She knocked my one daughter flat to the tile floor and my kids have so many bruises from her. In the house she is alway on a leash on a hook to the wall about 5 feet of moving around room, otherwise she’s like a bull in the house and she will not stop running and jumping and will not listen not even for food treats. Outside she is now also on a lead due to chewing the trampoline. She is outside during the day with bones to chew or stuffed kong or Nylabone etc and she plays with our 3 year old golden retriever, they wrestle pretty hard. In the early morning my husband feeds her and puts her in her crate as it’s only 5am and I can’t leave the kids to walk her. She then howls non stop. I need her to stop the 5am howling, quit eating the trampoline and especially stop jumping and hurting. My friends have labs and so did my uncle growing up and non were this bad. My golden retriever was pretty bad so I thought I knew what I was doing, but she’s rediculous. I’d play fetch with her but she won’t play, my husband say she does, but she’ll only bring the ball back 3x then she won’t play with me anymore. I feel that between wrestling with the retreaver and going for a walk she does get exercise. The tricks sessions and the puzzle feeders should provide enough mental stimulation. She’d get more attention if she didn’t injure everyone. She also darts on walks to try and get her leash off, because she wants to run off. My kids loved our golden even when he was super bad but they have no use for the lab puppy and when even your kids are frustrated you know the dog has got a problem. HELP
