    It's nuts! I can put treats and kibble on my puppy's nose and have him sit still with the food on his nose until I say ok... but he still likes to table surf..lol labs are something else.

    Lol. I hope you realise now that your party trick is not teaching your Lab not to take food. To do that you have to teach the dog food refusal. Your trick is only teaching your dog not to eat food that you have placed on her muzzle. Dogs are extremely poor at generalising. If I put the food on her muzzle, she could very well eat the kibble immediately. While you are part of the pattern she has learnt, I'm not.
