    Hello fellow dog lovers
I'm in the UK in Banbury just outside in a small village. Been here for 3 years.
Live with Maggie my wife of 43 yrs and Chipper black boy Lab who is nearly 8 now.
Our daughter and family live close by.
As i have a catologue of challenging health issues, use a wheelchair to get about, I applied to Canine Partners for a helping dog on the basis that it would help me cope with my daily issues.
Chipper is brilliant and keeps me going with daily walks and exercise. Also Maggie first thing as it takes me an age to get going. She enjoys the morning walk as good exercise all round.
Chipper sleeps in my downstairs room and always ends up on my bed. He always smiles, listens out for noises and never answers back unlike others in my life!!
When I've worked out this site, I'll post some pictures. Say more than boring words!!

Just a quick question for now? Do any of you who have aging labs experience a change in behaviour akin to a petulant teenager? He's doing naughty stuff, never done before like raiding the kitchen rubbish bin and jumping up onto worksurface on front paws licking cakes etc to his hearts content!!

Love to hear any comments. Thanks
    Mike

Hi @Mikerh and a warm welcome to the forum! :)

Chipper sounds like a character, and we would love to see photos. See the link below re: how to upload photos. Shout if you need any more help. Generally though using a third party hosting service works best, then simply upload the share link into the body of your message.

    technical-help.

Wrt to Chipper's behaviour changes, has anything changed in his day to day life? It doesn't sound like anxiety, but best not to rule that one out. Have you contacted Canine Companions?

I also wondered if he may need a bit of extra mental stimulation. Maybe consider some new indoor tricks/games for Chipper to tackle :). There are some great puzzle games around these days, snuffle mats etc that he may enjoy.
