Amber has kennel cough at the moment. Having never had a dog with this before I immediately trotted off to the vet with her. She was given Metcam to be administered once daily with food and I was told to keep her away from other dogs for a couple of weeks although she lives and sleeps with my two other dogs. I wasn't told how long it would last or how long the gestation is. I was also told to keep her calm.
Has anyone else dealt with this? Any tips? I have been giving her honey and that seems to help. I'm guessing my other dogs will get it? They are showing no signs of it yet. Poor babies. I always feel so helpless when any of them are unwell.

Poor pup! Kennel cough is dreadful to watch!
With our dogs - who have each had KC once - they coughed for between 2 and 5 days, going from coughing a little to coughing a lot and then tapering off again. Thankfully none of mine needed serious meds or stopped eating, but the sore throat can put them off their food.
