Mmmmmm what can I say the kidneys are holding up ok. But we have another problem and the vet can't do anything. We have a suspicious lump in her jaw and her larynx has become partially paralysed. Could be LP might not be, to go in even to look is too dangerous. She is struggling the vet heard her make the soft cough choke and doesn't like it. Loosing her voice is not good either so it's watch and wait. She's been given a long acting steroid to see if it helps and the most expensive antibiotics in Leicestershire. Hope she can tolerate them.she back in the vets on Tuesday but I will be going to the emergency clinic if she deteriorates. The vet knows I get it. It's ok she's very perky still herself. The good thing is the steroids might encourage her to eat that bloody renal food
I'm glad to hear she's still very perky. Maybe you should put some renal food in your sandwiches?! (Just remember not to eat them yourself, though!) I hope the antibiotics and steroids take effect and all goes well over the weekend.
Speaking very selfishly, I am very glad to hear that she's using her wiles to relieve you of your sandwich. (Don't give that monkey butler an inch of peace, sassy Moo).
I'm just sitting with her. steroids are a marvelous thing she's just ran round the garden.shes tired and looks peaceful, relaxed.
She won't eat anything today. I thrown various treats and stuff in the floor and she ate a bit of Rory s kibble.i feel like crying but she's so low today so it maybe this hefty med load.
Im hoping we're not coming towards the end. I think this weekend will define her future one way or the other.
We were in a very similar place this time last year with my old boy - experiencing the horrible gradual decline from kidney failure. I found this to be such a stressful and difficult few months and I completely empathise with the ups and downs and taking each day at a time. Thinking of you and Moo and I hope you have a bit more time with each other for laughs and love. x
