I got a new Lab pup, eligible for AKC registration.. However, she has an unusual head profile and wavy coat ..back only. Dam did have similar...wasnt so evident on pics but we didnt back out of deal as part of deposit was non refundable..grrr. What are chances another breed is hidden a few gen back?
Hi Susan, There is possibility for dishonesty in the AKC registration system, but it is also possible for purebred Labs to look surprisingly different to the usual breed standard. You might find the article "Is My Dog Purebred?" on our main site and interesting read!
Lots of land have wavy coats especially when they are pups. They alter a lot as they grow and go through coat changes
