Over the Easter long weekend, my family all met up for a little trip away, in which my labrador joined.
Ziggy is a 2 yr old black lab, who is bubbly, loyal and overall has such a sweet soul.
My two younger niece (6) and nephew (3) were with us in the house. Over the few days, I noticed our lab would constantly follow the kids into the garden and around the house, and whenever Ziggy didn’t join them, he would watch them from a distance. He wouldn’t sleep until the kids were in bed (he usually sleeps for half of the day). He wasn’t aggressive at all, he would just be watching over them quite happily all the time.
Just wondering if anyone has experienced their labs being very loyal and protective with kids, because I was blown away by his behaviour.

Hi Maddie, welcome to the forum :)

Ziggy sounds wonderful - what a sweetheart!

My dog would trade my daughter (7) to a complete stranger in exchange for pets and treats. But he's a whippet, which is only one step up from a cat when it comes to loyalty!
