Hello, we have recent rescued a young pup, which isn't a Labrador (Yorkie x Chi) and have introduced him to Bruno (now 8 months old!) Eeeeek, they now get on like a house on fire, but obviously Bruno is considerably bigger than the other pup so they are under strict supervision 100% of the time. A question about when they play, the young pup always chew Bruno's mouth and ears, which is fine, if Bruno was in pain he would surely squeal/ yelp? The thing is Bruno very gently nibbles the other dog back, he doesn't yelp but it does look quite rough at some stages, he also does put his mouth around the pups body, still the pup is not yelping, is this acceptable playing or should i put a stop to it? I do not want Bruno to hurt the young pup but I know Bruno is being very good with him and realises his not as big and strong. And licking, he does it constantly, his belly, ears, face, is this normal? Thank you in advance!
Re: Labrador Pup & Other Puppy Perfectly normal I have a very large 3 year old Lab , 38 kilos , and a rescue weighing 8 kilos , and their play can be rough at times, but no malice or hurt involved . Obviously when you have this sort of size difference , you do need to supervise as you are doing, but it doesn't sound like anything to worry about at all , well done on taking a rescue dog
