Hi, just wondering if anyone else has experience of a skin rash/possible allergy? Have taken my nearly 18 month old black male lab to the vets and they are unsure what the matter is. He is losing hair on his belly, groin and under his armpits. This started a few weeks ago and this is the second visit to the vets. Up until this week, there had not really been any redness or sore looking skin, but on Sunday I took a photo of him and you can clearly see small, red blotches on the bald areas. These are not pimples, not raised, don't look sore, and the most peculiar thing is that he is not itching or scratching or licking or anything like that. Not at all! In fact, it does seem to bother him in the slightest. In every other way he is a normal, bouncy, happy dog. He eats well and all other bodily functions are fine. The vet suspects an allergy and has given the usual antibiotics and Apoquel (which our old dog was on most of his life due to his grass/pollen allergy). Just wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone and if we might be able to narrow down the possible cause of the allergy (or anything else). Vet is slightly confused due to the lack of itching etc.
