    Good day,
We have been breeding Labrador for almost 12 years now, and we just got two litters and the thing is in one of them we had 11 puppies (7 lived) and the average weight was only 240 grams 8.4 Oz the smallest being 184 grams (of the ones that lived) and the largest only 260 grams. And in the other litter we got 7 puppies on average 334 grams little under 12 Oz. In all our years of breeding we have never got this small puppies in a whole litter yes maybe one runt. What we changed is that we started giving our bitches Royal Canine Puppy starter for the last 3 weeks of pregnancy they where feeding well and no problems. Can it be that this Puppy food has in some way caused the puppies malnutrition in the womb. Some of the ones that did not survive where skinny. Yes and the one with the lower weight of puppies has had 2 litters before with puppies normal for Labrador 400-500 grams.

I'd say it was the change in food since that is the common thing with both Dams that was done differently.
