We have a 6 month old baby and a 9 month old puppy. If you survive a lab puppy you can handle a baby. Lol. I found the puppy harder to deal with than the baby. And as someone mentioned before, it's different when they are your own. Dunnan sits on guard over the baby and has never been any trouble in that department. He'd lick her death if allowed. Nope, I actually agree. I'd rather have another baby than do puppyhood again, and I'm militantly "one and done".
How did your meeting go, @Beckyt6? Xena thinks THE CHILDREN are THE BEST THINGS EVER, which brings its own set of problems. You got some great advice so I'm sure you'll all be fine. Being prepared is half the battle.

That's really similar to us! Ella was 9 months old when our son was born. Now our son is 12 months and they have definitely swapped as he is soooooooooo much harder! Me neither! I really thought that I'd become more tolerant of kids once we had one but, nope
Casper adores babies! He just can't stay away. A friend I sometimes walk with when her baby was tiny had her in a sort of bag across her chest, Casper was mesmerised and would follow her everywhere with great big, doe eyes, if the baby cried he would get very upset. Benson, he can't be bothered, ever since he headbutted a toddler, we keep him close to heel or on lead when we see them. He is just a bit clumsy really.
It was ok!! Alfie seemed to love Charlotte and wanted to lick her but she was less keen. After we d been for a walk and he d visited everyone he went in his bed and slept for most of the time. He (and I) werent so keen on her shrieking but once she stopped that he was fine. No need for his pen. I m very proud of him!!
