Just found some lumps on Moos belly and they are not the usual lab lumps. They don't feel like the fatty lumps that I'm used to and have seen felt before and are along her nipple line tucked right under her back legs. They don't feel good and I don't feel happy about them. I've booked her in to see my very experienced vet but feel very apprehensive. The flaps of her skin seem thickened and have gone a lot redder than her usual pink skin. she seems to have some pain in the area too. They seem sinister and have come up quickly she has seemed a bit tired lately but i just put it down to the loss of Douglas.

    Anyone had anything similar?

Could be an allergic response to something she has had contact with. I hope it's something easy to resolve like that.

shes booked in for thursday as i want to see the more experienced vet rather than the new one whos great but not so experinced I don't think its an allergy. I am not hopeful I'm experienced with stuff like this and am getting the not good vibes from it. whatever it is we will deal with it and moo will get what she needs

It's good that you have an appointment with the more experienced vet. Sometimes these things can look scary but turn out to be very manageable. Fingers crossed that that is the case.

I do hope your fears aren't realised. Molly had a small-marble sized lump removed from a mammary last summer. I had it sent away to be tested and it was cancerous. However she hasn't needed any further treatment - I was just told to examine her regularly- so I hope all the cells were removed.
But Moo's don't really sound the same. Fingers crossed for good news when you see the vet.

Sorry to hear. It is very frightening expecting the worst. Best of luck and hope it turns out to be nothing and resolves quickly.

How stressful for you....do they appear quite fixed? Smooth or uneven? Does seem odd for so many to come up so quickly. Everything crossed for Thursday.

If she has pain I would be inclined to go to the vet today, and then see the other vet again on Thursday. But that's just me...

Fingers crossed it's nothing too worrying.

I tend to agree with Karen if she is uncomfortable or in pain to try and get an early diagnosis with the more experienced vet as a fall back

I don't know anything about "lady lumps" in dogs, but I remember when my sister got mastitis -- and it needed IMMEDIATE treatment with antibiotics. She was in agony and had rigors. Do you think what your girl has could be mastitis?
