Hello, I have a 7month old Lab pup called Luca who is just a delight. However, we have gone through several leads already, the latest was a leather one that snapped whilst walking out on the local beach - the loop handle completely snapped off! This has happened a couple of times now - our previous lead was webbing type material and the metal clippy bit pinged off. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a make or type of lead that is durable, strong and not too likely to snap? We live on a county lane where idiot drivers think they can go 500mph up and down and I am terrified of this happening again when we are walking out by our house and Luca might run in to the road. We really working on siting at the curb before crossing etc. but he does get so excited when going for a walk and I just want to make sure we have done everything possible to keep him safe. Any advice would be gratefully received on this! Sam x
Re: Lead Recommendations Hi Sam, We use rope slip leads, they seem pretty robust but then Riley's pretty chilled out on the lead.
Re: Lead Recommendations Hi Sam and welcome to the forum from me and my almost two year old boy Sam Sam was a shocker for pulling when he was young , just pure exhuberance at wanting to get to an off lead walk , he would always walk home like an angel . I think Sam was about the same as Luca ( love that name ) when I got a rope type slip lead for him, he responded really well to it , still a tendancy for eagerness but much much better , have a look at thei website www.workingdogcompany.co.uk Good luck
Re: Lead Recommendations Thank you so much to both of you for your advice. I have bought both a clip lead and a slip lead from theworkingdogcompany to try out! I really appreciate the help x
