I did know the person and still do, but not that well. It was about 10 yrs ago. I'm not sure of the recovery time. I will probably see this guy at a Flyball comp in a few weeks so if I do I can ask about it.

We've one lady from borrowmydoggy who is fantastic, loves Libby so much. She will certainly help as much as she can I think. I don't really want to introduce more people as a protection of Libby really but might do if it seems necessary.

The xray lady said whenever they see this particular break 9 times out of 10 it's because of a dog!

I am so sorry. Difficult for you with your dog and you being unable to walk her, can you afford a dog walker? Friends could help, maybe have a rota for dog walking. Maybe you could get it on some insurance? When you are home you can do some clicker training while you are seated, little retrieves, sits and downs etc. I have just noticed your Dad is keen to look after her, but Mum not, so can Dad come round and take her out daily for a walk?

It is something I have worried about, a large greyhound ran into me and I had a lump on my shin for over a month, it was very painful, but I didn't let on to the greyhound owner!

Lovely advice in there...a rota is possible I'm sure. Mum and dad live too far away for daily visits otherwise it'd be perfect. They'd have to take her to their home. I think there will be a mix of dad coming to stay, both coming to stay, taking Libby back with them and dog walker. I'm asking them to sort it and just tell me what's happening! Do you really insurance would pay some? That'd be amazing!

Oh no  How frustrating that they won't operate today! I hope they sort it out quickly. Hope you're not in too much pain.
Sounds like you have really good contingency plans in place for Libby.

Oh gosh, I hope they get to you this weekend Deb, and that the recovery is quick and easy. It's good that you've got a tentative plan in place for Libby's care.

Oh my word! So sorry to read this. Are you in hospital now, awaiting your op?

I always turn sideways and bend my knees when dogs approach me running - I've been hit once and it was damn sore. Or I stand against a fence or tree. But yes, two Labs at full pelt are difficult to dodge - I always have to watch out when Snowie and his bestie meet up. Cute to watch... but there are consequences! Wishing you a very speedy recovery. I'm guessing it's 6 weeks with no weight on that leg?

Oh no I am so sorry! I got hit full from behind by a big chocolate labrador at full pelt the other day, luckily for me I wasnt injured but I did imagine how awful it could be... Fingers crossed they can operate on you soon and that it all goes smoothly.

Hell's bells, what a rotten accident. Very best wishes for a quick recovery, frustrating when the ops get delayed.

Good grief, I am so sorry this has happened. Where do you live, maybe someone on the forum could help out with Libby? It's so easily done, I had two Labradoodles totalling 75 kg hurtle down a hill behind me, I couldn't move in time and they slammed into the back of my legs I went up in the air and landed on my back - ouch very painful.

Really hope everything goes well. Keep in touch. xxx
