I had a soft collar ( as Mags photo above ) for Sam after his cancer surgery , maybe this wouldn't be so traumatic for Red ? Poor girl , I do feel for you so much , its just horrible when our darling dogs are miserable x
Yes I did think should I get one but I think she is gradually accepting this now - albeit reluctantly. I have just put it back on after our evening walk and she let me very easily. She is having a little moan but I expect she’ll get in her bed shortly.
I know, it's horrid seeing them miserable, especially when, just as you say, they are perfectly well beforehand. But she will get over this be back to herself. Given the chance the body can do marvelous things to heal itself. I felt so bad about putting Cassie through it, but 3 months on it's good to know that our active life together won't be hampered by season's or the dread of a phantom pregnancy. And although she didn't bother her wounds she didn't bounce back like other bitches I have had in the past.
Thank you for this @selina27 - it really helps me to know 3 months down the line all is ok with Cassie and you. I know it was the right decision to get her spayed but hadn’t anticipated this licking thing. Her sore patch is looking a bit better today but I think it’s going to take a while to be totally better. Red is accepting me putting the cone on and even sits to let me do it! She is now beginning to move around the house a bit instead of just standing like a statue. It’s the pathetic crying noises she makes that get me.
