Re: Lilly's biopsy It was a freak accident, he jumped out of my arms and fell awkwardly on our drive. It was a clean fracture though that required a pin and a screw to fix it. He is currently on cage rest, to last for a few more weeks and then we can start gentle exercise again. He will miss a big chunk of the shooting season but I will make it up to him somehow. Anyway, here he is sporting his t-shirt and feeling rather well. http://youtu.be/WTmx4f2cqsw
Re: Lilly's biopsy
Sorry, Jacqui, for hijacking Lilly's thread with Ziggy's woes.
Not at all Heidrun! I was just leaving, but had intended to ask after your post. How long were his stitches in? I guess he was just getting fed up with them! Poor boy.
Re: Lilly's biopsy
They were ready to come out anyway. He just saved the vet a job.
did you get a refund?? ;D
Re: Lilly's biopsy Aw Kate, our problems are trivial compared to Millie's poor eye, and Ziggy's poor elbow, but thank you xxx
Re: Lilly's biopsy Thanks Helen - dressing off, just the sock but taped on, and antibiotics "just to cover for infection since she HAS been licking it". Am waiting on some Pawz booties so at least I can try them on her foot and stop getting a very soggy sock which then has to be changed, which then draws her attention back to it : I contemplated the Buster collar to allow sock removal, but I am SURE she will still get to that bit of her foot/leg. I really don't think she would tolerate a cone hard or soft, she hates her head touched and she will be home alone on some days. At least its a relatively short time. Not like poor Ziggie or Lady and her elbows, or even a spay. She completely ignored her spay wound - lulled me into a false sense of security :
Re: Lilly's biopsy Aw bless Lilly, I think a high sock is the best solution and much better than a cone x
Re: Lilly's biopsy Ah Luckily Lilly never seems to be down with anything too much,I know you watch her hips,so I am sorry she's been a bit pulled about with this Jacqui.....but worth it to get checked out x
Ziggy had also decided to take the stitches out of his leg himself the other day.
Ziggy!
Re: Lilly's biopsy
Anyway, here he is sporting his t-shirt and feeling rather well. http://youtu.be/WTmx4f2cqsw
I just love the way Ziggy has his t-shirt sleeves neatly rolled up. Well, he would, wouldn't he? ;D
Re: Lilly's biopsy
When do you get the results, Jacqui?
I think they should be back today or tomorrow. I am assuming everything will be fine (unless I hear otherwise) and will catch up when I am dropping Sophie of on Monday. I have decided I don't like the advice I got (sorry) to take off the dressing and just use the loose sock. She is licking through the sock and bothering with it quite a lot. It's not how I would treat a wound in a person :-\ I consulted my practice nurses (#1dog owner + #2dog owner/cat breeder) and put a dressing back on under her sock. Used some physiotulle, layer of thin cotton wool roll and a lightweight breathable dressing a bit like more holey vet wrap. I am sure this is making it more comfy as she hasn't bothered it once since I did it. I will probably take it all off again before my next visit though
Re: Lilly's biopsy Hopefully she will heal quicker with the new dressing on fingers crossed on the results x
