On the beach tonight Eric began to limp and lift his right paw up to lick. We had a look but couldn't see anything. He was limping intermittently.
When we got home we washed it and had another look, again nothing obvious.
    Still limping intermittently.
He has just yelped and started licking his paw again. He's also finding it really hard to settle tonight :(

    Poor boy!

It can be really hard to see things like splinters etc. Might need to get the vet to examine his foot closely. Something might have gone in between his toes, in the furry bit.

Poor baby has just took himself to his crate and rolled over for a belly rub. Definitely feeling sorry for himself :(
I'm not going to take him on planned moors walk tomorrow morning. Will see if he's still limping in the morning and if so will get him to vet.
We've decided to register him with a different vet so tomorrow may be the day!

Good plan - I would definitely go to the vet if it's still sore. If there's something in there you want to find it and get it out before the entry site gets infected.

Hope he is able to settle and get some sleep tonight.

Poor Eric, could be a little bit of shell or something difficult to see. Hope you get it sorted out. xx

Still limping on and off this morning. More on when he had jumped down from counter surfing!
Took him to vets (new one for us) who examined his paw first. Eric didn't flinch at all. Checked his elbow and he was not happy. Checked his other elbow to see if was just an elbow thing but he definitely didn't like his right elbow being moved too much.
No crying or anything (which would have made it easier lol) but you could see he wasn't impressed.

painkillers and rest for 7 days. If not 100% in 7 days take him back for further investigation.

So now the fun starts. I've read the restricted exercise thread and we will be doing lots of training. No food (which has been suggested we only give 1/2 - 2/3) will be given unless used for training.

    Here we go................

Oh dear, hope his elbows will respond with rest. I do sympathise with the rest for 7 days, not easy.

Poor man. Hopefully he's just strained it and it'll improve. If it's a joint strain it'll probably be easier to manage than a foreign object in the foot, tbh.... Still, it is absolutely no fun to have a doggie on rest for any reason. Hope he's feeling much better soon.
