They say not. Since she is bright, bouncy, seemingly healthy, drinking, eating and so on they don't really want to see her on New Year's Day when they already saw her on Friday. Which I can understand, don't want the emergency vet tied up dealing with an otherwise healthy puppy when there might be others much more in need. Sigh. Well, just have to see it out I suppose.
Four days seems a very long time to have it. Plus concern about dehydration. That is one heck of a bug that is running through poor Betsy. I am so sorry for Betsy and you.....hang in there.....she is a strong puppy and will get through it. But certainly would be nice to know what has actually done this to Betsy and Charlie.
What a bummer for all of you. Poor pups. This is just a thought... could it be the drinking water? I have found with my two when we go somewhere on holidays they can get a sensitive tummy and I have narrowed it down to drinking water being different then at home. As soon as I switch them to bottled water at our Cabin (being the most noticeable place where they have reactions), the liquid poo stops. I hope she is on the mend!
She seems a little better - as in hasn't had a bottom explosion for ages. We aren't really on holiday as such. We are in my house. My house is in Cornwall, and OH's house is in London. So both dogs have spent months here before and not had a problem.
Hope you get a better night's sleep tonight and Betsy's over the worst. I'm waiting for my dog-walking gloves (or rather the leather part of one and the finger tips of the other) to reappear from one of mine.
Oh Yay! She has had her dinner 3 hours ago - and no liquid poo! Yay! Yay! Yet, anyway...... No poo at all. But that's fine. Have we turned a corner? After one dog or another with liquid poo for 10 days now!?!!!!? Might I get a full night's sleep tonight....just maybe.....
I hope you don't need this anymore. Just read about the problems you were having... http://www.medpets.nl/aa+diarstop/ I hope you did have a good night sleep!! Annemarie
Stanley has started with this now. He wanted to be out twice through the night, luckily he barked so we made it outside. Fingers crossed he's just eaten something and doesn't have this dreaded bug
Betsy had solid poo for a day, then back to runny poo, and last night vomiting. So we are back off to the vet today. Feeling very sleep deprived now!
Oh no Have you changed her food? I'm unsure whether to keep feeding him his usual or put him on chicken and rice.
I switch dogs with poorly tums to a Duck and Tapioca kibble or wet food and Betsy has been having this. I wouldn't ever feed chicken and rice to a dog that isn't used to it. Since a lot of kibbles do contain chicken and rice anyway, this is fine for most dogs but neither of mine are fed rice so introducing it when they have an upset tum doesn't work for me. And Charlie is intolerant of chicken anyway.
Very sorry to read this @JulieT, especially now she has started to vomit as well. I hope the vet has some ideas and a cure. It is so worrying when our dogs are unwell and D&V is not pleasant!
Hoping and praying mine don't get this bug. I can't even bear to think about it! I hope Betsy is well again soon, and doesn't pass it back to Charlie.
