Not to bust your bubble, but the puppy weight is not much of an indication of the grown up dogs weight. Tilly was 7.5 lbs at 7 weeks and ended up at about 65#. I think Cooper was the runt of the litter at 5.5 # at 7 weeks and now she is a tall, skinny 78# dog. No matter, they are all great regardless of how big they get. We had one rescue and then we have had two that we raised as pups. Both were somewhat easier than some of the stories we have heard here, but almost all Labs grow up to be very good dogs.
We picked her when and had no idea of size as they all looked very similar in the size range, i was just saying as that was the info i was given when esme had her health check the other day. If i could of had them all i would of as it was so hard to choose, we just went for the one that licked us. Been to visit a few times and going again a week Saturday
How lovely that you are able to visit Esme while she's still so little. She looks really beautiful in your avatar, a great photo.
How adorable is Esme - but I must say she looks like she can be a little princess. She will fit in just fine here
It was so hard to choose Maisy too but I picked her up and cuddled her, she was so calm and content, then she snuffled my ear and licked it - she was the one. Then a few days after collecting her she made her mark! She bit my husband's ear and drew blood (only puppy teeth nips not aggression), then she snuggled me and got to my ear lobe too, nibbled but no blood, just very sharp teeth! Oh how we were fooled by that cute little bundle! Little did we know she had a thing for ears, wouldn't swap her for the world though, luckily she doesn't nip anymore but she still likes a cuddle. Esme is gorgeous by the way, so cute
Oh blimey.... i will have to watch out for esme and my 3 year old playing together, i have a safety gate between the living and dining area. It’s open plan. But also it will create space for my 3 year old playing with her toys and esme with hers ..... she will have the run of the dining, hall way and kitchen when she is separated. We have the crate for bedtime and when I’m out. Which won’t be much to begin with. And someone will check on her when I’m a uni.
Mollie was good, calm and sweet for three weeks, then - wham! Full on crocapup until seven months old! .
She's very independent, happy to venture around alone, will use her initiative in the pack to find a bowl of food that has more in it lol, she's not too noisy really. I called them all in to house after their playtime on the decking and she was 1 of the 1st to come so that's good x I asked how esme was and how she is behaving at the moment.....
