Red is not in the least bit interested in retrieving. The only way you can get her to bring anything back to you is by throwing something, she runs and picks it up but will only bring it to you when you throw something else. Even then it’s hit and miss. I decided to train a retrieve using my clicker. The last few weeks we have not got beyond step one - touching the dummy - which she will only do with her paw not her mouth. DH comes along yesterday, watches my pathetic attempts with her, picks up the dummy, throws it, shouts fetch and hey ho, she fetches and drops at his feet. She then did it several times. Needless to say she got jackpot rewards .

Stanley only likes retrieving with OH.

Anyone else gets the ball he’ll chase it but won’t give it back. Whereas him and OH would play for hours on end.

I let them just have it for those 2 and don’t get involved, they have so much fun and it’s really adorable :)

Joy will retrieve for me but for no-one else, little sweetheart. Can't decide if this is good or not though. Still only quite a baby at 13 months, so time will tell, no doubt.

Lucius retrieves really well, will pick up practically anything I throw for him. He's even been tempted to retrieve dropped items for my grandmother at times, keys, bags and remote controls are no match for him. His favourite is tennis balls though. He even carries light loads of shopping in (only things light enough for him to carry) He used to fetch his lead too, but its on a hook so he cant reach it now.
