Re: "Look at me" There is no shame in any command....my command for Cuilli when she looks like she is about to get a bit barky at a dog in the distance is ''Sausie Sausaaaage''. I've absolutely no idea why I said it the first time (probably desparation as it was back in the really I'm-terrified-of-strange-dogs-so-I-will-bark-a-lot Cuillin days), actually I do cringe ever so slightly if there is anyone around, but it works a treat so I use it all the time. if she is off lead she will come flying back to me, and if she is on lead she looks up at me instantly. It might even be more effective than the recall whistle or Look At Me...now I've typed it I am cringing slightly but it wont put me off!
Re: "Look at me" Debsi that is like Pippa's suggestion of a "Magic Word", good for you. I think whatever works go with it no matter how silly it sounds
Re: "Look at me" True, there is no shame in any command but I wonder if some might work better than others in certain situations. Take Julie's 'is that for meeee' for example. Only Julie will know how it actually sounds but if it is spoken in a high pitched excited voice it could actually hamper the delivery if the dog is already giddy from the retrieve. Something flatter like 'dead' or 'give' might work better. Just my thoughts.
Re: "Look at me" I think it's following on from Jac's suggestions for a word for 'look at me' Heidrun ???
Re: "Look at me" Yes, I know I have gone a bit off topic, Helen, but those were my first thoughts when I read Julie's command for the delivery.

I think I first started it when Charlie was away with the ball/dummy in a world of his own - galloping round, killing it, and I was trying to remind him that I existed by sounding exciting. The trainer has told me to change it. Well, when we start retrieving again, we can change it then.
Re: "Look at me" I say 'watch me' for look at me but don't move, 'here' for ignore that and come here to me and 'this way' for I'm about to head in a different direction to the one you think we're going in. But I much prefer 'sausssieee saussssaaaage' ;D
