Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie Sounds very encouraging, you must be so pleased after all your hard work and commitment. Hope you have a happy weekend and soon Charlie will be home for good.
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie It's sounding good, anyway, see what he is like tomorrow. 20 days to x-rays... That doesn't sound so bad. (Not counting after that, because it starts sounding too far away again).
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie Wow sounds like Charlie is doing brilliantly....hope you're gsving a fab weekend with him
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie It's Thursday. Sorry, this is where I go into "36 hours to go" count down... Anyway, we're at 6 weeks on Monday. X-rays week after next. So on the weekend of the 12/13th he doesn't go back, as he stays for x-rays then Easter. He'll be home for 10 days. . If we get the all clear at the x-rays we might go to Cornwall. Which we are still thinking about, as he'd be a nightmare to walk in a new exciting area. But will ask the vet. The surgeon said we could relax after the x-rays so maybe a bit of misbehaving on lead won't be such a big deal by then.
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie I bet you can't wait I hope you enjoy your time together no matter what you do x
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie Oh - just realised its 9am on the button! Have fun Charlie!!! (but nice safe, gentle, sensible fun )
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie - HOME FOR GOOD Well. What a day of discussion, debate, agonising. Rearranging work, booking grandad train tickets, and dog walker rearranging plans. It all started last week. When OH took him back, Charlie wasn't that happy (resulting in phone calls, emails, checks, all week). Today, when I picked him up, they said they thought he should come home after Easter, and attend as an out patient. They think he is both well enough, and showing some signs of being stressed in kennels. Well, that's enough signs for me that he should come home. So he is not going back and is staying. I am not risking his wonderful personality and character. Poor lad, major surgery, 6 weeks away, I think it's a lot for him. It's not going to be easy, back to the hectic schedule, getting him back 3 times a week for hydro, but at least we've got 6 weeks done, and the next 6 won't be too bad, I don't think.
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie He will be so happy to be home Julie and I bet your happy to have him home and not to have to leave him again despite the extra work and pressure on you. Maybe it's like people who start complaining when they are feeling better. Charlie decided he was feeling better. I'm sure it will help his recovery more aswell if he was beginning to get stressed. We just have to make sure you don't get stressed. I'm glad your all back together Jen
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie The most difficult 6 weeks are behind you and I think Charlie will be happier at home now. It sounds as if you have everything sorted except for the difficulty of getting to hydrotherapy three times a week, how much longer does that have to go on for? It will soon be a distant memory and life will be wonderful again
