Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie
Well don't get used to using the bottom shelves... he'll be back soon enough to pinch everything again!
I know! I had him in a really tiny consulting room doing the paperwork with the nurse and she said "let him off his lead for a sniff round, he can't come to any harm in here". Why do I listen to people who say things like this? I know my dog! Or should do by now. Within 2 milliseconds he had cleared the shelf behind the nurse of leaflets, tissues, 3 teddies and a tub of milkbones...we spent the next 10 minutes picking up. :. Charlie firmly back on lead and on with the forms...
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie What a relief. I hope you manage to have a relaxing evening and sleep well tonight knowing that Charlie's recovery has started. Alice
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie So glad the op went smoothly for you Julie. Wishing Charlie all the best for a very swift recovery
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie So glad all went well Julie. Give him a big hug from me when you see him tomorrow. Here's to a swift recovery xx
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie Oh I bet you can't wait to see him tomorrow,so glad it's all gone so well, surgeon sounds like he has done a good tight, clean job and given Charlie the best chance as he starts his recup.Tonight will be a strange night...bet the house feels very different.I was shattered when Dexter had his second tail op and i have to admit to loving having a whole nights sleep in my bed but I did miss him, so I know you will feel lost .Oh but Julie that feeling is nothing, absolutely nothing to the stress and worry you would be having of keeping him from further injury if he was straight home with you,Greyfriars is a blessing and they will have him fit, healthy and back to you in no time x
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie Thanks Angela - the house is so strange without him. I keep putting the baby gate on across the stairs, and the phone back on top of the TV (out of Charlie reach). I'm going to miss him so much. But I can't ask my usual dog walker to care for him when he is so fragile (she would, but is super nervous about it), and I am starting new work from Monday which means I'll just be out of the house too much. He is much better off in a place full of people that he knows, and who can do his physio, cuddles, playtimes, and the endless mini lead walks that he'll need.
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie The more I hear about Charlie the more I love him. So pleased it all went well today, must seem like the worst bits over. Greyfriars sounds super, he is getting the best thing for him. I had a lovely walk at west wittering today with a friend and her dog, sun shone and Otis had a great time, you will be having great times again with Charlie soon too. Maggie x
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie So glad to hear everything went well, Julie!! Have a good rest tonight, he'll be glad to see you tomorrow and glad to see his friends at Greyfriars as well. Finally, the recovery can begin!! Yippee!
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie Really glad the op went well. He'll be getting the best care at Greyfriars - what a great resource that is. Hope the pick up and transfer go really well too
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie Really happy to hear Charlie's op went so well, that's super news! All the very best for a speedy recovery. I know you're going to miss him, but you are doing the very best for him - he'll be back before you know it. Xx
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie What brilliant news! So pleased it went well. And now the road to recovery woo whoo .
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie So glad to hear all went well, have been screaming round trying to find some wi-fi and get everyone to leave me alone for 5 mins to check on Charlie! And you! I hate the feeling when Rileys not in the house.....it's weird. He'll be home soon though and you'll be back at his beck and call Hope the transfer to greyfriars goes well too, lots of love and hugs xxx
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie Do you go to see him today, Julie? Is that where you are poised to go on your drive?
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie Thanks all! Yes, I'm weighing out his daily sea biscuit, sea wrap, salmon strips, and fish skin bones into little bags and sticking labels on them. No, I'm not filling time until the surgeon calls - this is a very necessary job as I'm sure they don't have scales at greyfriars :. So long as the surgeon is happy with him this morning, we set off at about 10am, and get there at about noon. Consult with the surgeon, then drive down to Greyfriars. It'll be quite a long day, but I get to spend most of it cuddling my puppy on the back seat, so not too bad. I'm steeling myself to see his lovely chocolate fur shaved off and an incision wound. I'm determined not to cry! (Pathetic, I know).
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie I hope today goes well. Big hugs to you all xoxoxo (I also weigh Harley's treats when she occasionally stays with my friend!!)
