Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie Charlie looks in tip top condition, glowing with health and full of vim and vigour
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie We had a lovely time with him today. Must stop letting him getting way with everything "because he is poorly" though! They say he is now at the "I feel fine, let's run everywhere, and jump on everything" stage. So I feel like I've had a bit of a pep talk, and steeling myself for the next 6 weeks when he still can't! 6 weeks though...doesn't sound long.
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie Next time I see him - no cone! I have to say, he hasn't minded the soft cone at all. Staggered by the success of that (sea wrap assisted, but still...).
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie He looks fab 6 weeks is not long at all He really does like ears, doesn't he ;D
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie Charlie is now allowed a grown up kennel: new kennel by JulieTandCharlie, on Flickr We met a lovely, lovely black lab girl who is 8 weeks into her cruciate recovery, and allowed to go swimming. She is very keen for you to know that she can swim perfectly well, thank you, and the armbands are part of a strategy to adjust her level in the water so she uses certain muscles. arm bands by JulieTandCharlie, on Flickr
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie Oh my goodness what cuteness!they even gave her pink armbands! Charlie looks tiny in the big boy kennel.....great to see him moving through the recovery suites as a measure of his progress ;D I know you will have enjoyed seeing him today, hope he was in good spirits xxx
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie Aw Charlie lookin' good in your big boy kennel That Black Lab looks worried
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie
That Black Lab looks worried
Her name is Lily. Yes, she was happy just before that, when I was saying hello, and she was ok in the pool - but it's not a big hoolie swim chasing a ball she is going to, it's careful work. So they are quite restricted and constrained in what they do. A lot of dogs don't like the body harnesses at first, I think - it looks to me like Lily doesn't, it was only her third swim, and I took the pic just after they had fastened it up. Charlie hated them at first, but we got all of that over with before his op, and he's been through the body harness get up over 20 times, and he is ok with it all now - he mugs the girls and chews their hair when they bend down to fasten him in.
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie Glad that Charlie now has accommodations more appropriate to his status I reckon it I had pink inflatables banging round my ears I might look a big like Lily too. Please reassure her that we understand that they were there for purely technical reasons and in no way reflect on her swimming ability.
Re: Lovely Chocolate Charlie O! O! O! He gets to COME HOME for weekends the week after next! From the 29th March - I CAN HAVE HIM HOME FOR WEEKENDS!
