Just back from spending a few days, with Molly, visiting my sister in Somerset. One day we had 2 of my sister's grandchildren with us and I was so pleased with Molly's behaviour, as although I've tried to socialise her with children I don't know many people with them, so her contact has been limited. Anyway I gave both Maria (aged eight) and Dan (aged 4) a handful of treats to put in their pockets and told them Molly was only allowed one if she sat or lay down. Then we went in the garden and I showed them how to tell her to sit - hand signal and word - and it worked beautifully. At first Dan was a bit squeaky-voiced but I told him to sound like granddad! Soon she would obey them with me at the other end of the garden. In fact Maria went on to learn other commands and had Molly doing stay, recall and walking to heel off lead. Later we went to Ham Hill, a country park, and had a great time. Molly ran around with the children and obeyed them both every time they told her to sit, with lots of other children and dogs as distractions. It was such a lovely time - the children were delightful and Molly was too!
Re: Lovely trip with Molly Sounds like you all had a lovely time, what a brilliant positive experience for both Molly and the children x
