    What a wonderful place - I'll be happy here amongst like minded Labrador lovers :)

    A bit about us ..... late fifties, previously owned Giant Schnauzers then German Wirehaired Pointers who worked, did agility and basic obedience.

    Now owned by a black Lab aged 4 bought from some gypsies (its okay she had a traceable chip and all her KC paperwork so we know she wasn't stolen).

    DexiD4DivaDog spent her first three years as a kept-in-cage breeding bitch so knew nothing. A year later she is (sorry other dogs - I loved you too) quite simply the nicest dog-person I've had the privilege to share my life with. Slightly timid, adores swimming and returning balls, a gentle soul who bring so much to my life.

    Hi MMM and welcome! :D I am the odd one out on the forum and don't actually have a labrador but four spaniels. I am also from Somerset. ;D

    Hi back at you :)

    I live in a village on the edge of the Quantock Hills.

    My other passion is the welfare of pet parrots and I help run an UK forum dedicated to their care (bit like here but birds not dogs lol)

    Your girl sounds lovely, what a great (but sad with happy ending) story of her finding you - photos please, when you've figured out how to post them (we're big on photos :)).

    It's a lovely forum - an amazing place. I hope you enjoy it.

    Hi and welcome from me and my two dogs, Lucan a 4yr old Lab and Bracken a 7yr old English Pointer. We're down in Devon so quite close too. :)

    Welcome from me Helen, Hattie 6 years and our rescue Charlie Lab x Pointer 3 years. Your girl is lucky to have found you and escaped what was a miserable existence :'(. Good for you. Have fun on this lovely forum. :) x

    Well, I can buck a trend and say I'm nowhere near you! In Paisley, Scotland, with my cocker spaniel, 10 years, and Lab 4 months.

    Welcome to the forum... parrots, huh? Now someone was sharing Lab and budgie stories recently - Karen, was it you??

    Hi from us too!
    Like Claire, we are Norf of the border too - Fife for us, home of golf and all that stuff.
    Lilly is my first dog (but OH had a lab in his teens)
    She is now 3 and a half, a placid wee beastie, but inveterate hunter out in the fields, and aspires to be the new *Fenton*.

    welcome to forum, your girl sounds wonderful.

    I own a 5 year old rescue pyrnean x called barley and a 6 month old (time does really fly) labrador puppy called puzzle. We al live in sunny :p suffolk

    Barley sadly came from a similar sitution to your girl, but he was kept in a cage on a farm for the first year of his life until we got him, he had no social skills and is a very nervous and sensitive boy, with lots of health and behaviourial issues.

    Hope you have fun on the forum.

    Wow what a lucky girl to have found her place with you.
    I've got Dexter.a 14 month old yellow boy ...mostly he's the Darling of Dubai ( where we live) but he's currently the Devil of Dubai....in a darling way! ;D
