    Re: Maisies here!

Quick question or 2 or 3.... she suddenly gets very snarly and barky and rough with murphy, when she gets like is i assume its because shes over tired and I put her in her crate to chill, is that ok? Iv just done in now and she literally zonked as soon as i shut the door!

Also how do i stop her chasing the cat??

All in all she is doing very good with house training, but when outside, she sometimes does 2 or 3 small wees quite soon after eachother. I assume its because shes too excited to play and doesnt fully empty to start with? I know this could be a sign of a uti but Im assuming its not as the few accidents shes had inside dont have any blood in or anything.

    Tia

Those photos are just soooooooooooo tempting!

And yes, when Pongo was little he would have lots of little wees outside rather than one big one. Personally I think it was a tactic for getting lots of treats (he got a treat every time he went)....

When Charlie was little he found going out to the garden was so exciting he couldn't stand still to pee, so would walk and pee at the same time. He'd always do 2 or 3 pee walks. I went through a ton of pet wipes.

He still does this on the beach. And at gundog training. :-[. Sigh...feeling the need for my dog to grow up now! :-[ ;D

Chocolate Buzz walks and pees too but I put that down to him not being allowed to wee except for very specific times so if he really needs to go he walks and wee's. I guess it must be a similar thing when they're too distracted to realise they should just stop and have a proper wee  ;D

    So cute miss Maisie!!! :* :* :*

They are just learning about bladder control, so along with the whole exiciting new world out there...they don't always completely empty. This should get better. With a UTI, you won't necessarily "see" anything, but rather they tend to leak/dribble a bit and often will squat to pee...pee a little...and then stay there slightly "straining" to empty their bladder. Also, watching her vulva for discharge of any sort.

    sounds like she's just a growing girl....either 100 miles an hour...or at a dead stop! ;D ;D

Iv just started to change her from beta large breed puppy to skinners puppy lamb and rice, iv just opened the pack and the kibble of skinners is really small! Iv looked and it doesnt appear that skinners do a large breed puppy? Or am i being stupid? Is what iv got ok for her?

My vet suggested I switch her to the large breed version of what I was using, something to do with the minerals or calcium or what not they have in the large breed formulas. Maybe ask your vet if the puppy general stuff is okay when you take her in next? They can probablyt ell you if that's okay or if you should find a puppy large breed version or other brand.

I don't think small kibbles are bad! The kibbles for the large breed puppy formula I'm on (doubt you have it in the UK if that's where you are as well, but it's called Acana) are HUGE and my Maisie just swallows them whole sometimes… eek. I try to soak them a bit but I use them as training treats half the time and it's so grim picking up a water logged piece of kibble. I think smaller kibble might have been a better idea, but hopefully she learns to chew as she gets older!

My little black Maisie says hello to another little black Maisie girl! She too likes to get a bit snarly and snappy when a bit tired but not ready to put herself to sleep yet! Very normal.

Argh I just wrote a long update about murphy and then went to get photos from flickr and its deleted it! Shes very good with most things, sleeping through apart from I wake her up around 4 to let her out. She is completely silent in her crate and iv recorded her when iv been out ithe day and shes been silent too. She plays quite rough with murohy and is quite noisy but i just keel watch and when i think murohys had enough i split them up.
Here are a few pics including murph coz i think he is a handsome chap :)

    Moi?! ::)

Honestly, I think you need one of each to have a well-balanced household. A yin and a yang, if you will. It stands to reason.
