It has been a loonnggg 5 months but I can happily say, that Corona has been 100% worth it! At 6 1/2 months old and after all her medical issues (and I'm sure we aren't done), she is FINALLY sleeping thru the night! I feel like a new super woman! It has been an entire week! She goes from 10pm-6:45am when my alarm goes off! It was so easy getting her to skip that 5am wake call, that I'm sure she was ready long ago, but better now than never. She is also 100% on her new single ingredient/no grain food with NORMAL poops! Took 6 weeks to do the switch over because she has always had such a sensitive tummy but at least now we can see if it makes a difference with all her infections. (3 ear, 2 eye, 2 bladder and 2 anal gland). We had some recent issues with anal gland leakage but with some added pumpkin to her food, her poops are getting even more firm and we haven't smelled and fishiness the last 2 days. Fingers crossed that her tummy gets even more adjusted and things settle in that area. I just want to add that I super appreciate all the advice and encouragement and most of all the HOPE, that I have received from this forum. Honestly, there were times, I felt like I was at my wits end, and then the comments from my posts would push me thru another and yet another day. Corona is such a sweetheart, she is a huge cuddler and is pretty chill for being so young. I am so happy I stuck with it and owe a lot of it to this forum! Just wanted to thank you guys! :p:p

Fantastic news :tail:. It really does make a difference when they sleep through, and when they aren't poorly.

I just love posts like this :)..in the early days with a pup you end up feeling exhausted, tearful...and certainly in my case wondering ( at 5am...) if the devil had sent her! It really does feel like 3 steps forward one back for a long time and you wonder what on earth you are doing wrong. It does get better, then just wonderful...well until adolescence hits! :D:D

    Shhhh!!!! :tmi:

Just kidding - I agree with you, it's inspirational to hear when things turn a corner. And adolescence doesn't have to be so bad...just kind of new set of challenges. Of the two dogs I had all the way from babyhood to adult, one was a delight throughout his life and I couldn't understand what people meant by doggie teenager. The other did develop a quite daunting behaviour outside the house at that age which had me in knots, but he was a a load of fun and love at home which helped me face the other bits .

What a lovely, heartwarming post. It certainly will bring hope to others with young pups, who are in the throes of puppyhood.

So very pleased for you that you are at last getting a full night's sleep, and ecstatic that Corona's tummy is settled at last - fingers crossed that lasts and lasts. You can now start to enjoy your pup and life in general again - a dog makes life so much better in so many ways! Long may it continue for you both xx
